Chase Emotional Wellbeing (CEW)
These services are delivering the “Improving Access to Psychological Therapy” (IAPT) programme in Cannock Chase.
The IAPT service is based on the stepped care model.
How the service works:
Step 1 – Accessing the service
- The problem is identified and presented to the GP, who completes a referral form & PHQ9 (depression measurement scale) and sends it to the service.
- The service then arranges an appointment for the client
- The appointment will normally be completed within 14 days.
- The client will be referred to Step 2, Step 3 and/or Community Wellbeing Worker.
Step 2 – Mild to moderate depression and anxiety treated by a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) who will deliver the following interventions
- Wellbeing groups
- Psycho-education
- Brief Therapy
- Behavioural activation
- Self help material
- Navigation to support services.
Step 3 – Moderate to severe depression. Psychological Wellbeing Therapist is a qualified psychological therapist who can deliver a range of Evidence Based psychological therapies. This will include:
- Structured and time limited psychological therapy
- Thinking skills enhancement
- Development of interpersonal skills
- Improving “Functional Wellbeing”
- Emotional management
Step 4ward – Community Wellbeing Workers will work 1-1 and with groups to help clients to continue to develop functional wellbeing skills. This may include:
- Behavioural Activation
- Functional wellbeing activities
- Developing social capital.
